Thank God its FRIDAY!

HAPPY FRIDAY..
Hey ya! May the good lord bless you with a weekend of fun, joy laughter and peace.
I dont know about ya'll but my weekend will be a nice and quiet one. Not in the mood for sponteniety. It is crazy hot in NY so I will be on a mission to find an air conditioner! My Lord it is SCORCHING HOT! I plan to clean, do laundry and sit back and relax. Sunday I will be praising God ALL DAY before the lovely 4th of July weekend.. I have 5 days off! oooh wheee!

I am sharing this artist Joy Enriquez with ya'll today because she deserves it. There is something so demure and lovely about her (not that I know her) but from listening to her album and browsing her website she definately won me over.
For those who dont know Joy, she is the wife of R n B producer/artist Rodney Jerkins. Joy former R n B singer released an album some years ago and was 12 songs into her second album before God called her to move in a different direction. Now she has a gospel album entitled "Atmosphere of Heaven". This album is not available in stores but I encourage you to get it on her website (go to my favorite links). I am not a fan of R n B gospel or pop sounding songs that merely talk about Jesus howvever, for the young folk Joy gives you something you can listen to in your car, in your room on saturday, in your dorms. This album is not going to have you praising and sweating for hours but it is worth a cap. There are songs for choreography, praise dancing and it is a certain winner amongst youth groups as this is a sound they are familiar with.

The consequences of disobedience..

Good day ladies and gentlemen!

I'm blowing kisses and stretching my arms out to you in the name of Jesus.
I write with love and I truly hope you are having a good day so far.
As you may know, in my quest to know God and solidify my relationship I am on a historical journey through the old testament.
My word today comes from the 1st Book of Kings which tells the story of Solomon (Son OF THE FAMOUS DAVID) who was his fathers succesor as king of Judah and Israel. Solomon started as a mighty king who OBEYED God and built the famous Temple. Solomon was a kind leader full of wisdom and filled his fathers shoes perfect by completing the works David couldnt. As a result of this, the whole land was blessed with peace and Solomon never had to fight any wars nor did he have much opposition. He was blessed with an abundance of wealth as promised by God (even the Queen from Sheba) from distant lands there was an outpour of gifts until he turned away from God and started to worship other gods and marry foreign women (against the will of God). God took away the kingdom from him and gave it to one of his officials.
BUT because of his father David, the lord promised not to take it away during his lifetime but during the reign of his son. I will end here.

You see, be very careful what you do because your actions affect others. When you purposely rebel and are led by the flesh you affect the people around you and eventually your children. This takes me back to the book of numbers when the people of Israel kept on turning away from God and complaining against the lord he said
"I the Lord am not easily angered and I show great love and faithfulness and forgive sin and rebellion. Yet, I will not fail to punish children and grand children to the 3rd and 4th generation for the sins of their parents" (Numbers 14:18)

Please Please and Please, ask the lord to teach you how to be obedient and how to love. Beg him everyday for guidance so that you do not stray! DONT BE SO SELFISH and please your self with human desires that lead to death. Seek Wisdom, Knowledge and above all UNDERSTANDING and you will live long. Solomon saught wisdom and he was automatically blessed with wealth. God does not lie! Seek ye first the kingdom of God and ALL these things will be added unto you. Seeking the kingdom means to seek righteousness, holiness and everything pure and Godly (i.e abstaining from sexual immoralities, lies, stealing and crooked ways) You cannot get away from God he is watching. Choose the narrow road which leads to LIFE ETERNALLY!

Whats up my people?? I woke up late this morning and therefore got to work 45mins late. Not a good look since this is a new job and I have only been there 1 month! I have a bad headache and since I got ready in 20mins this morning I certainly look a mess. BUT despite all of the mayhem this morning from throwing clothes in the air to rushing my shower, then facing the sweltering heat of NY hot summer and stinky subway.. I give THANKS to God. While getting my daily read of the word on the train (currently on 2 Samuel)my eyes started to open: I have to give it to DAVID, the dude just knew how to praise God. Through hardships, famine, death of family members, even when death surrounded him DAVID PRAISED HIS GOD. Even when his own son Absalom was out to kill him David would constantly seek the lord. I thought about certain situations in my life that the Lord brought me through and I wanted to break out in a shout on 48th and broadway. But since I have to catch up with work I will leave ya'll with Kelly Price's rendition of "For every mountain".

Lets praise God and Thank him despite our situation for this is the will of God in christ Jesus concerning us..

BREAKING NEWS!

The American Family Association reports:

A California lawsuit which is now headed to the U.S. Supreme Court would make the use of the words “natural family,” “marriage” and “union of a man and a woman” a “hate speech” crime in government workplaces. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has already ruled in favor of the plaintiffs.
CNN and The Washington Post both reported that General Peter Pace, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff, was fired because of his publicly expressed moral opposition to homosexual behavior.
A bill now before Congress (H.R. 1592 / S. 1105) would criminalize negative comments concerning homosexuality, such as calling the practice of homosexuality a sin from the pulpit, a “hate crime” punishable by a hefty fine and time in prison. This dangerous legislation would take away our freedom of speech and our freedom of religion.

All I can say is brothers and sisters RING THE ALARM!
I know the only response to such ignorance is prayer.
Father God in the name of JESUS I come to you for help.
Lord I know that you are the general overseer and no one else is above you. Lord I ask that you reverse this legislation and send it back to the enemies camp for the sake of your son Jesus! Father I am believing you for a revival in the land. Forgive us for our sin and all unrighteousness and please have mercy for we know not what we do. Father you said to Abraham that if you find even 1 righteous man you will save the land, so Lord I plead with you on behalf of all christians that are taking a stand. Save us from this crisis and help our country so that in peace and freedom we may honor you from generation to generation.
You have given us the power to speak those things that are not as though they were so by faith I am speaking to strongholds to be broken, every curse, plot or scheme of the enemy shall not come to pass in the name of Jesus. Satan you must bow!
Lord I thank you for an answered prayer.

He is God Alone

I bring peace, joy and smiles to you this morning.
I hope your day is as Fabulous as mine!
I am sharing this Marvin Sapp song today titled "You are God Alone"

The words of this song come alive everytime I hear it... It awakens my spirit and lets me know that no matter how I feel God is still God. Happy, sad, up, down, broke, rich, he remains the same. A lot of people still dont understand how and who God is but it is simple, read the bible and study his word and he slowly reveals himself to you. I remember sitting in church and hearing about all these wonderful miracles and testimonies, God healed me from cancer, God delivered me from drugs, he spared my life and I stupidly thought who is this imaginary guy that does these things...I'd be like come on ya'll! But I was only ignorant to what I did not understand (God and his son) To those of you who think like I used to, here is some knowledge:

To be very honest, I had to seek God myself to really know who he was. I made the choice to want to know, I made the choice to find out what was just and what was unjust. I made the choice to live right! I made the choice to be a daughter of the most high God and I made the choice to be wise and reverence the lord! I made the choice without a gun to my head! So to brother or sister who is still trying to figure this whole christian thing out. The choice is yours to make. Seek the lord while he may still be found.

For those who dont know Marvin Sapp other than being a singer. He is the pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church (Western Michigan) he is called to win the lost and edify the believer. Sapp was a member of my FAVORITE gospel group "Commissioned" back in the 90's before he launched his solo career. If your looking for that song that makes you wanna lift your hands and shout GLORRAYYYYYYYYYYYYY then I implore you to purchase "The diary of a psalmist".

I'll just like to welcome you to "Pure Fiyah" and let you know what I'm about!!! If you are a christian and you are addicted to Christ like I am then this is the spot for you. I will be sharing testimonies, bible verses, stories, music, recommended sites, books, lessons learned, do's and don'ts, where to find, and fun things young Christians can do...warning I might break out with a sermon every now and then so: "HALLELUJAH", "GLORYYYYY" and "AMEN" are welcome!

I gave my life to Christ a little over a year ago and phew it really feels like its been 10! I will start by saying dedicating my life to praising and worshipping Christ is the best thing that has happened to me and also something I NEVER planned to do at 22! I felt church was boring esp. when the sermon started.. I mean the singing, the chatting with friends, the ice-cream or treats after service was fine but oh please why did the dude have to spend hours talking about this "imaginary somebody" and the extra theatrics were to me just unecessary.. so by the time I was 13 I was done with broadway! Longstory short I lost both parents by the time I was 13 so through all the hardships from growing up in Africa, then moving to London and then America, I landed myself in what I thought was a hole in the wall church much to my surprise, this pastor was FIYAH!!! She is as real as you can get and I guess thats my interlude to how I met the Lord.. I'll end here for now but, for more stories.. please feel free to save Pure Fiyah to your Favorites for your daily vitamin G (OD)
